Ann Lectures on Shirley Jackson Ann Robinson at Barnes&Noble

Listen to NHPR's Front Porch Interview...John Walters, host of NHPR's "The Front Porch," had this to say: "You might think, after reading Ann Robinson's book of short stories, that her friends and family have stopped speaking to her. But she insists that Ordinary Perils is only loosely based on people she knows—the rest of the scandals are her own doing. Ann Robinson has created a cast of women in transition, dealing with small events that can have a profound impact on the lives of everyone around them."

As a Traveling Scholar for the New Hampshire Humanities Council, Ann presented this entertaining program about a much-neglected literary icon of the 1950's and 60's. The lecture was also delivered at Vermont College, where Ann received her master's degree in writing. Libraries and other organizations wishing to explore the life and work of Shirley Jackson are invited to contact Ann here.

Ordinary Perils lends itself to spirited book group discussions. Explore the possibilities by ordering the book at $16.95.
