Cover Artist Louise Link Rath Ann Lectures on Shirley Jackson Ann Robinson at Barnes&Noble

Ann Robinson (r.) and her cover artist, painter Louise Link Rath, celebrate the publication of Ordinary Perils, Ann's debut collection of short stories. The book's 2003 debut coincided with the end of her treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Ann is still in remission and continues to enjoy all facets of her career--writing literary fiction and humorous essays, lecturing, and speaking to book groups about her work. As a Traveling Scholar for the New Hampshire Humanities Council, Ann presented this entertaining program about a much-neglected literary icon of the 1950's and 60's. The lecture was also delivered at Vermont College, where Ann received her master's degree in writing. Libraries and other organizations wishing to explore the life and work of Shirley Jackson are invited to contact Ann here.

When Barnes&Noble showcased Ann as one of their new authors, she read story excerpts and answered questions about the writing process. Ordinary Perils lends itself to spirited book group discussions. Explore the possibilities by ordering the book at $16.95.
